The standard word is de luchthaven. Learn it inside the journey you are actually likely to make: checking in, confirming baggage, finding security, listening for a gate and boarding time, and repairing one misunderstanding.

Check in

Present the booking, name the destination, and answer the baggage question.

Reach the gate

Speaking guidance

Make the next reply easier to produce

  • Dutch airport compounds look long because related words are joined. Find the useful core first: vlucht, gate, bagage, controle.
  • Repeat critical letters and numbers back as a question. Gate B12, klopt dat? is safer than silently assuming you heard correctly.
  • Use kunt u for a polite service interaction and keep one request per sentence when the airport is noisy.
